Irit Sternlicht began her aikido training with Eitan Ben-Meir Sensei in Tel Aviv in 1987. During 1995-1996 she trained with Yamada Shihan in New York Aikikai. Since 1997 she instructs aikido classes in Tel Aviv. During these years she continued to visit and practice at the New York Aikikai, as well as in Berkeley Aikikai with Shibata Shihan. Presently, she is a direct student of Miyamoto Shihan at Aikikai Hombu Dojo, Tokyo , Japan . Irit Stenlicht holds the rank of 4th. dan. Irit Sternlicht is a member in El HaLev, martial arts organization for women. In her classes, Irit Stenlicht emphasizes the quality of being connected to the partner, relaxing the body while and at the same time keeping it vital and energetic. Attention is given to safety and health during aikido practice. Class is open to youth and adults at all ages. |
